Occasionally, astronomical data reduction mess-ups results in artistically interesting pieces. Here is “Octobreak,” a very distorted image of stars in the Sigma Orionis cluster. It ended up displaying in “art of science” shows at several universities.

What about this one? What do you think it is? An acquaintance reported a resemblance to a famous temple in Bangkok... but in fact, it is a map of dust in and around the rho Ophiuchus star cluster.
